ROLEX Datejust 36 mm 16233 1997

Offered for sale is the timeless Rolex Datejust Ref. 16233, dating from 1997, featuring the classic black dial and iconic two-tone Jubilee bracelet with fluted 18ct yellow-gold bezel.

This example has never been polished and has been exceptionally well preserved, making it a genuine “safe queen”. The sharp, original case proportions and untouched condition give the watch a particularly authentic vintage character. The 36mm Datejust is powered by the renowned Rolex Calibre 3135, an automatic movement with quickset date functionality.

The combination of the black dial, yellow gold and stainless steel remains one of the most iconic Datejust configurations of the 1990s. The watch is supplied with its Jubilee bracelet.

Fun Fact:
The Ref. 16233 was produced from the late 1980s into the early 2000s and was the first Datejust generation to feature a sapphire crystal rather than acrylic. It also introduced the highly regarded Calibre 3135, which became one of Rolex’s longest-running automatic movements.
